Sharjah, Saturday, January 14, 2017: Two hundred incoming freshmen and their parents have been exposed to an orientation program as part of their upcoming spring semester at American University of Sharjah (AUS). The new students will start their academic journey at AUS on January 22 for the spring semester.
Chancellor Kjerfve welcomed the students and advised them to take advantage of the facilities available in the university. He also assured parents that the university would take the responsibility of their children’s education seriously.
Students and parents were familiarised with the Student Academic Integrity Code. All new students have signed a pledge to agree to the principles set forth in the code. At the end of the session, students and parents were able to meet representatives of the academic and administrative departments, who were available to answer questions.
The welcome session will be followed by a weeklong schedule of events that aim to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the university and includes activities such as city tours around Sharjah and Dubai, awareness sessions for parents and students, a dinner reception and a library tour.
