UBAI,( UAE) January 22, 2014 : Know.Do.Serve.Learn. (KDSL), a Dubai-based Education company, has released today the second white paper on Dubai’s American curriculum schools and related issues. This is part of a series of white papers that highlight Dubai’s American curriculum schools and related issues of importance to schools, educators, parents, and students. KDSL is a global education company that specializes in collaborating with American curriculum schools worldwide. Its second white paper is entitled “Common Core State Standards Implementation in Dubai’s American Curriculum Schools.”
“Throughout Dubai, schools and educators are working very hard to implement the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which is part of the curriculum requirements for American curriculum schools by the 2017-18 academic year. KDSL felt it was opportune to discuss the status of the implementation process in the US and in Dubai, as well as spotlight tools and resources for policymakers, school administrators, and teachers to create awareness around CCSS and help successfully deploy the new standards,” stated KDSL Managing Director Kevin Simpson.
The white paper features the results of a KDSL-administered survey to Dubai educators and school administrators in November 2014 that tabulated their impressions of CCSS and its current and future impact on American curriculum schools in Dubai. In addition, standards and accreditation requirements for American curriculum schools per Dubai’s private school regulatory authority are summarized.
The paper was authored by KDSL Managing Director Kevin Simpson and KDSL Consultant Abigail Swetz, and edited by Kerrin Ann Barrett, PhD. The paper may be downloaded here .
